Why We Created HexaTraction ProDeck
Carles CarreraShare
HexaTraction was never designed for sailing.
It was designed for boards: Surf, SUP, foil.

Then sailors started using it on boats.
Not because we told them to. Because it solved a problem.
Helms. Cockpits. Working areas.
Places where grip matters when things get wet, fast, and unpredictable.
It worked. That was the starting point.
What we began to see
Over time, we started seeing more installations in sailing environments.
- America’s Cup support and training boats
- Offshore racing trimarans
- Foiling catamarans
- Performance monohulls
- Superyacht tenders

This was not marketing.
These were teams and sailors solving a problem with something that already existed.
They needed grip in specific areas. HexaTraction gave it to them.
Simple as that.
The limitation was not performance
The product worked extremely well.
The limitation was format.
HexaTraction kits were designed for boards. Smaller surfaces. Different layouts.
On boats, sailors started combining multiple kits to cover larger areas.
It worked, but it was not efficient.
Too many packs. Too much time. Not designed for the scale of a deck.
At that point, the solution became obvious.
What needed to exist
Not a new material.
Not a new technology.
A new format.

A format designed for sailing.
Larger coverage. Same grip. Same reliability.
That is how HexaTraction ProDeck was created.
Modern boats changed the requirements
Sailing has evolved.
Boats are lighter. Faster. More technical.

Every component has to justify its presence.
Weight matters. Surface matters. Maintenance matters.
Traditional deck solutions often come with compromises:
- Thick foam pads
- Added weight
- Glue, installation, replacement
- Visual disruption
In high-performance environments, those compromises are not acceptable.
A different approach to grip
HexaTraction ProDeck is not designed to cover everything.

It is designed to be placed where it matters.
Helms. Cockpits. Companionways. Working zones.
Anywhere you need control.
Nowhere you don’t.
This is the difference.

Why it works
The hexagon pattern creates a consistent traction surface without adding thickness or weight.
It works wet or dry. Barefoot or with boots.
It does not absorb water. It does not change with temperature.
Once installed, it stays in place.
No maintenance. No cycles. No replacement schedule.
It simply does its job.
Where it is used
You will find HexaTraction ProDeck on boats where performance matters:
- Foiling catamarans
- Offshore racing trimarans
- Performance monohulls
- Superyacht tenders
Not because it was marketed there.
Because it works there.
The result
A traction system designed specifically for sailing.
100 hexagons per pack. Large coverage. Modular layout.
Same proven performance. Better format.

Final thought
The best products are not the ones you notice.
They are the ones that work every time and stay out of the way.
HexaTraction ProDeck is one of them.
