HexaTraction
Install the HexaTraction RSPro® board grip&traction and forget about waxing your board in a hurry to get to the water. Optimise your fun time.
TIPS for a Pro installation:
- Don't install it on a cold environment. We recommend to install it at room temperature. Below 20ºC (68F) the material and glue tend to get rigid, so it would make the installation more difficult.
- Throughly clean the area with alcohol or similar. Make sure no rest of wax is present. Avoid industrial cleaners.
- Before starting, layout the HexaTraction hexagons choosing the best pattern to cover the area where you need grip and traction.
- PRO TIP: Peel exactly half of the adhesive backing of the first HexaTraction hexagon, so it will be super easy to align with the board center line.
- Pour or spray water. It will help on having no air bubbles.
- Stick half of the hexagon making sure to remove all air and water out by rubbing with your fingers and/or cloth. Remove the other half of the backing and squeeze all the air and water out.
- PRO TIP: Squeeze from the center to the edges or from one side to the opposite so all air and water gets out.
- Using the HexaTraction installation template included in the packaging, progress through the deck one hexagon at a time.
- PRO TIP: Align by the side of the hexagon with the adhesive backing on.
- Complete the layout using the half hexagons if needed.
- You're done. Review all hexagons, making sure all the water is out, let it dry (not on the sun) and let it cure for some hours before heading to the water.
HexaTraction RSPro® board grip&traction uses a strong adhesive. If you need to remove it, we advice to use a hair dryer or heatgun to apply some gentle heat so the adhesive softens, and removal is easier. Specially if your board is painted or coated.
Front Grip
TIPS for a Pro installation:
- Don't install it on a cold environment. We recommend to install it at room temperature. Below 20ºC (68F) the material and glue tend to get rigid, so it would make the installation more difficult.
- Throughly clean the board deck with alcohol or similar. Make sure no rest of wax is present. Avoid industrial cleaners.
- Before starting, arrange traction layout. PRO TIP: We recommend standing next to the board with your stance or lining up and older board to copy the front foot location.
- Use the stringer or mark the center of the board with a pencil.
- Start with the first central part. Peel off the adhesive backing on one end (we recommend from the top) and start applying without stretching. PRO TIP: One of the properties of the material is that it's quite elastic, so do not stretch it during installation.
- Then side parts ensuring even gaps on each side. Align at the top and try again not to stretch the material to guarantee even lengths.
- Apply pressure on all the edges.
- Wait for some hours and go surf.
Rail Protection
Worried about installation?. RSPro rail protection was designed with a super-easy installation objective. And we made it. It's a kid's game!.
RSPro rail protection material makes it easy to install. No bubbles. No worries. The definitive board protection with style. Keep your board safe, and it's reselling value high:
TIPS for a Pro installation:
- Don't install it on a cold environment. We recommend to install it at room temperature. Below 20ºC (68F) the material and glue tend to get rigid, so it would make the installation more difficult. If you can't do it at room temperature above that temperature, use a hairdryer or heat gun to apply a gentle heat over the rail protection before, during and after installation.
- Unroll the rail protection bands and place on at each side of the board.
- Mark with a pencil the center of the rail protection band.
- Before removing the backing, place the center of the rail protection band at the center of the board rail and extend it to the nose, mark the board with a pencil where the start of the rail protection band should be. Now you have the perfect placing longitudinally.
- Start peeling the front side of the rail protection band and start sticking it where you marked the board and on the edge of the board rail (this is the more external part of the board, and where all impacts will take place). Follow the board rail edge until the end.
If your board coating/painting is weak (usually the case on extremely expensive and on extremely cheap boards), or if you prefer to play around with the rail protection band until you find the perfect spot, spray some clean water over the rail of your board. It will allow you to move the rail protection band, and once placed, remove excess water with a squeegee or similar. Rest of the water will evaporate by itself after some hours.
We include a carton squeegee in our packaging:
We recommend to wait for 6 hours before going to the water.
If you need to remove it, we advice to apply some heat with a hairdryer or heatgun to soft the adhesive and to make it easier to remove.
Nose Saver
TIPS for a Pro installation:
- Always start by throughly clean the board nose with alcohol or similar. Avoid industrial cleaners.
- PRO TIP. You can warm the saver before installation with a hairdryer or similar to make it softer for installation. Not needed if installation temperatures are above 20ºC (68F)
- Before starting, check the correct positioning.
- Peel off the adhesive backing and align the center of the saver with the tip of your board and stick it applying pressure.
- Stretch it on one side centering it on the edge of your board. PRO TIP. The narrower the nose, the more you have to stretch it, so the elasticity of the material makes installation easier. Start applying, making sure it’s aligned with the center of the board.
- Repeat on the other side, making sure you stretch it exactly as the other side so it ends up symmetrical.
- Apply pressure on all the edges and all around the nose saver.
- Wait for some hours to let the glue cure and go surf 🏄♂️ 🏄♀️ 🤙🏼
Paddle Grip
TIPS for a Pro installation:
- Don't install it on a cold environment. We recommend to install it at room temperature. Below 20ºC (68F) the material and glue tend to get rigid, so it would make the installation more difficult.
- Start by cleaning the paddle shaft with alcohol or simply soap and water (make sure you get rid of any wax, silicone or similar).
- Mark where do you want the grip to be positioned (maybe it's time to challenge yourself for a longer reach)
- Peel part of the backing longitudinally and fold it.
- Align vertically and start applying pressure along the grip.
- You can now start wrapping the grip around the shaft, peeling, wrapping and applying pressure all around.
- The grip will overlap (It's designed to work great overlapping, so don't worry).
- Apply some pressure evenly all around and ... that's it.
- Wait at least 6 hours to let it cure, before using it and Go Paddle.
If you need to remove it, we advice to apply some heat with a hairdryer or heatgun to soft the adhesive and to make it easier to remove.
Paddle Blade Edge Protection
The RSPro Paddle Blade Edge Protection has been carefully engineered not only taking into account protection and design, but also with an easy to install prerogative:
TIPS for a Pro installation:
- Don't install it on a cold environment. We recommend to install it at room temperature. Below 20ºC (68F) the material and glue tend to get rigid, so it would make the installation more difficult.
- Start by cleaning the paddle blade edge using alcohol and a cotton cloth or similar. It's very important to get rid of debris or surfing wax. Do not use industrial cleaners, as some of them use silicones, and silicone is the worst enemy of any glue.
- The Paddle Blade Edge Protection kit comes with 2 units. Perfect for a kayak or for 2 SUP paddles. First of all separate the 2 units. We made it easy for you pre-cutting them.
- Remove the backing from the centre of the Edge Saver (again we made is easy for you pre-cutting the backing in 3 pieces) and apply it to the centre of the paddle blade.
- Starting by one side, start removing the backing and sticking it to the edge of the paddle blade.
- PRO TIP: The more tight the curvature of your paddle, the more you should stretch the Edge Saver. Stretch it hard!!!. It will self-conform to the shape of your paddle blade easier.
- Stick the rest until the end. We engineered the tip of the RSPro Edge Saver so is easier to apply and to get firmly adhered to your paddle. Have a look at the picture below.
- Repeat on the other side.
- Apply pressure evenly around the paddle, let it cure for some hours, and go paddle!!!
As you can see at the video it's easy to reposition while installing it, but once it's fixed, after some time, it can't be repositioned again. We recommend to wait for 6 hours before going to the water.
If you need to remove it, we advice to apply some heat with a hairdryer or heatgun to soft the adhesive and to make it easier to remove.
